It is cut to fit generously over a standard US queen mattress of 60 x 80 inches, with room for the bed frame, and the drapes fall to the floor on all sides. Can a queen canopy bed curtain fit a full or twin XL bed?

Yes. A queen canopy bed curtain always fits a smaller bed — the excess fabric simply gathers softly into the corners. A full/double bed measures 54 x 75 inches, so a queen canopy (67 x 86) leaves generous drape on all sides. A twin XL is 39 x 80 inches, and the queen canopy at 86 inches long is a good choice because it covers the extra length that a standard single/twin canopy does not. In both cases, "bigger is better" — a generous canopy hangs and drapes better than one cut too close.

How do you hang a queen canopy bed curtain from the ceiling?

A queen canopy bed curtain can be hung from the ceiling by fixing four ceiling hooks positioned above the corners of the bed and suspending the canopy from those points using the ceiling ties built into the canopy. For box canopies this creates the four poster look over an ordinary bed. Round and temple canopies need only a single ceiling hook. A wooden, bamboo or curtain rod frame can also be suspended from the ceiling as an alternative, giving the canopy structure to hang from.

Do I need a four poster queen bed to use these canopy bed curtains?

No. Our queen canopy bed curtains do not require a four poster bed frame. Box canopies can be suspended from four ceiling hooks over an ordinary queen bed to create the four poster canopy effect. Round and temple canopies need only a single ceiling hook. This lets you transform a standard queen bed into a canopy bed without the cost of an expensive four poster frame.
