The golden rule is "bigger is better" and if unsure of your bed size take a measurement and compare to the listed dimensions. Contact us with your dimensions and we will respond with recommendations.

Box shaped canopy curtains for four poster beds can also be suspended over your bed to create the look and feel of a poster bed without having to buy a poster bed.

Round shaped or single point of attachment bed canopies are simple and easy to suspend. Choose from regular polyester or easy care machine washable cotton or deluxe silk.

King and California King Canopy Bed Curtains — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between king and California king canopy bed curtains?

King and California king beds are similar in size but not identical: a standard US king mattress is 76 x 80 inches, while a California king mattress is 72 x 84 inches — the California king is slightly narrower and four inches longer. Our canopy bed curtains are generously cut to fit both bed types with the same canopy, so a single "King/Cal King" canopy is all you need for either bed. The excess drape on the narrower California king simply gathers softly into the corners.

What are the dimensions of king and California king canopy bed curtains?

Our king and California king box canopy bed curtains measure 91 inches long, 79 inches wide and 86 inches high (230cm x 200cm x 220cm). This is one canopy size cut generously enough to fit both a standard US king mattress (76 x 80 inches) and a California king mattress (72 x 84 inches), with the drapes falling to the floor on all sides. See our full canopy bed curtain size chart for all sizes and international bed size comparisons.

Will one canopy bed curtain fit both a king and a California king bed?

Yes. Our king and California king box canopy bed curtains are made in a single size (91 x 79 x 86 inches / 230 x 200 x 220cm) that is generously cut to fit either bed. On a standard king the fit is close; on a California king the extra length is covered and the slightly narrower mattress leaves a little more drape at the sides, which can be gathered into the corners. Our round and temple canopies for king and California king beds fit even more flexibly because they hang from a single ceiling point.

What styles of canopy bed curtain are available for king and California king beds?

Three styles are available. Box canopy bed curtains are structured, rectangular canopies with a netting ceiling and full-length drapes on all four sides — the four poster look. Round canopy bed curtains hang from a single ceiling hook with a fibreglass hoop holding the shape open — a romantic princess-canopy effect. Temple canopies are a one-size-fits-all design with three openings that adapts to most decors. Each style can be seen in the products listed on this page.

What fabrics do king and California king canopy bed curtains come in?

Three fabrics are available. Natural cotton is soft, breathable, machine washable and the most popular choice. Sheer polyester is lightweight, see-through and the most affordable option. Pure mulberry silk is the ultimate luxury — 8 momme silk georgette drapes with 16 momme silk satin ceilings and hems — and we are proud to make the world's only 100% silk bed canopies.

Do I need a four poster king bed to use these canopy bed curtains?

No. Our canopy bed curtains do not require a four poster bed frame. Box canopies can be suspended from four ceiling hooks over an ordinary king or California king bed to create the four poster canopy effect. Round and temple canopies need only a single ceiling hook. This lets you transform a standard king or California king bed into a canopy bed without the cost of an expensive four poster frame.
